Photos that inspire…

It has been an eventful week in most southern states, especially Alabama and Georgia. Hashtags like #Snowcation #Snowpocalypse and #Snowmageddon were trending all over the state. Some of the best Images of the snow can be found on the ABC News website where a plethora of Associated Press photo journalists have created a slide show that shows every aspect of the Winter Storm Leon in all his arctic glory. The next slide show is from the New York Times. The slide show is called “In Alabama, the Day of the Big Game (Really Big)” with all the photo credit going to Dustin Chambers of the New York Times. These are not the most exciting pictures that could have been taken on the day of this year’s incredible Iron Bowl but I though the pictures were beautiful because it showed how calm and naturally beautiful the plains can be even on the biggest day of the year. The final slide show that I have I was very excited about because it takes a local and state story and movement and puts it on a global scale. There are many eateries and restaurants opening in Alabama that are focusing on providing fresh and local food to there customers and supporting the local economy. Turns out they are doing the same exact thing in Paris, France as shown to us in the New York Times by photo journalist Liz Alderman. The movement in Paris is a bit more detailed than ours in Alabama. Parisians are demanding that the government require all dishes that are not prepared with fresh ingredients be marked as industrialized food on the menu. Do you think that Alabama or the United States should make moves toward labeling dishes made with industrialized ingredients?
